What to bring on your Journalism Placement?



General
  • Sandals/flip-flops
  • Sun cream
  • Impregnated Mosquito net
  • Insect repellent (lots!)
  • Basic toiletry bag
  • Medical kit including anti- diarrhoea tablets and oral re-hydration treatment
  • Alarm clock/watch
  • Torch
  • Photocopy of passport and important items
  • Address book
  • Sleeping sheet
  • Projects Abroad Office contact details
  • Money belt
  • Breathable waterproof jacket especially in the rainy season, June - September
  • Day rucksack
  • Guide book Bradt Guide is good
  • Towel
  • A few good novels
  • Swimming gear
  • Water bottle
  • Small padlock
  • 'Dressy' clothes for the occasional big night out there is quite a lively social scene especially in Accra

Specifically for your Project
  • Clothing
    • Men - Long sleeved shirts, tie, trousers and polish-able shoes
    • Women - Blouses, long smart skirt(s), polish-able shoes
  • Dictaphone (not essential, but often useful)
